Masaka City Lions Club

Location: Masaka City, Uganda

Lions club of Masaka City is one of the youngest clubs in District 411B, region B, zone 9. It has been in existence for four years and it was chartered in 2021. It started with 16 members and it has grown to 21 members and it has transferred 3members to other clubs.  It has the most beautiful logo as it indicated above and very vibrant young members.

Our focus areas include;

1)  Fight against Diabetes: we have championed this in Zone 9 by doing weekly aerobics with the community as well as quarterly screening of diabetes and sensitization.

2) Environment Conservation: In partnership with the mother club, we plant trees in the communities and clean the markets of Masaka City as well as train teachers of Primary schools on making Liquid Soap to ensure school environments are kept tidy and safe for pupils.

3) Hunger Relief: Lions Club of Masaka City has partnered with UNATU to help and teach public primary schools to grow vegetables and fruit trees to enable schools to serve vegetables to pupils for lunch. In this project, 12 public Primary schools have received vegetable seedlings and fruit trees from the Lions Club of Masaka City.

4) Fight against Cancer through awareness and sensitization, as well as the Donation of Blood on a quarterly basis to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.
