Lions Club of Kabale
About the Club
Lions Club of Kabale was founded in 1991 and since then, it has grown its membership to 165 Lions. Since the Lockdown, the Club membership is now 53 active members.
The Current Club's top Leaders are Dr. Sunday Javilla ( President), Tukwasikane Johnan (Secretary), and Taremwa Joshua (Treasurer).
Lions Club of Kabale is a unique Club that has thrived for the last 33 years and is looking forward to starting Clubs in Rukiga and Rubanda districts. The Club uniquely sponsors 3 Leo Clubs (Kabale University, The Brainstormers and BBUC Leos Clubs) and these Leo Clubs have increased membership in the Club by producing Leo Lions.
Activities
The Club has so far done 156 activities in all 5 pillars of Lions Clubs International. We raise funds through mobilization, fundraising, donations, and our club has visibly shown up with key activities in sight, environment and hunger. The Club looks after the Eye Project at Rugarama hospital as a signature project and the LCIF Kishaze-funded project that was left nearly to completion.
We do training and mobilization for membership and we hope to increase membership by the end of this Lionistic year to 60 members. We have always learnt and collaborated with neighboring Lions Clubs, Kisoro, Ntungamo, Rukungiri, and Leo Clubs. We look forward to improving service, membership and reaching out to communities.
