About the Club
Lions Club of Mbarara Central. Based in Mbarara City & it holds fellowships 2 times a month.
The club was chartered on 5th Dec 2013 and received its charter on 11th Jan 2014 with 26 members. It currently has 59 members. The club´s areas of focus are the general Lions areas of focus, but with emphasis on environmental protection, youth, vision, and childhood cancer
The current club leaders are: President: Ln Kambona William Wilberforce, Secretary: Ln Mbakureeba Jenkins, Treasurer: Ln Tusiime Miria, Immediate Past President: Ln Musinguzi Peace, Zone Chair: Ln Sserwanga Andrew, Region Chair: Ln Musinguzi Benon
Projects
- Management of the Leisure part at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST)
- Woodlot at Mbarara Junior School
- Partnership with the Cancer ward at Mbarara University Teaching Hospital & with Bless a Child Foundation in support of children living with Cancer
- Sponsoring of Omega Leo´s Clubs – At MUST Kihumuro Campus & MUBS Mbarara Campus
- Partnership with Ruharo Mission Hospital on sight screening and sensitization in select primary schools in Mbarara City
