About

This project aims at ensuring communities in the Kigezi Sub-Region have access to eye care services that meet their needs at every stage of life. This includes not only prevention and treatment services, but also vision rehabilitation. It also aims to address the full spectrum of eye diseases. The project is operational in six health institutions, namely: Rugarama Hospital, Kisiizi Hospital, St. Francis Hospital Mutolere, Nyakibale Hospital, Bindi Community Hospital and Rushooka Health Center IV

Project Goals

The project is a partnership between Lions of Uganda, six partner hospitals and Mbarara
University and Referral Hospital Eye Centre, Mbarara. The six partner hospitals are: St.
Francis hospital Mutolere, Kisiizi hospital, Rugarama hospital, Nyakibale hospital, Bwindi
Community hospital and Rushooka hospital. This project aimed to bring specialized
screening and treatment eye services closure to the underserved community of Kigezi.
